We are pleased to announce that an anonymous donor has pledged $2,500 to The Foundry as a restricted gift to help offset the expenses related to the CFJ competitive team. With the donation a challenge pledge has been created…the donor will match dollar for dollar any gift up to an additional $2,500! $7,500 or more will be used to offset travel expeses to the competitive teams’ regattas this season!
Cleveland Foundry Juniors is a club rowing team comprised of athletes, grades 6-12, from over 35 schools in the greater Cleveland area. As CFJ is growing as a competitive team, a few of our varsity athletes are organizing this campaign to fundraise for new rowing equipment. All money raised will go towards supporting the CFJ team. Established in 2015 The Foundry a 501(c)(3) organization is Cleveland's youth-oriented non-profit center for Rowing and Sailing. The Foundry provides training and access through rowing programming on the Cuyahoga River, launching from the Foundry's main campus Columbus Road rowing docks. The Foundry also provides a variety of sailing programming on Lake Erie launching from the Historic Coast Guard Station at Whiskey Island and the E55th Street Marina in partnership with the Cleveland Metro Parks. Your recognition and support of the Foundry's passion and misson helps provide student-athletes with opportunities to experience the transformative powers that rowing and sailing inherently provides to the development of a young person, for life.
